Origin of the sponge

Unlike Caribbean sponges, Mediterranean sea sponges grow slowly in deep and cold waters which make their fibres elastic and long-lasting.

This sponge is an environmentally-friendly product. Harvested off the Tunisian costs under the control of the Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture or of Fisheries, these natural sponges’ harvests are limited to twice a year to avoid overfishing. After each harvest, millions of gametes are released into the sea to help the development of new sponges.

Care instructions

Every few weeks, soak your sponge in 1 cup warm water with 1 tablespoon baking soda for 15 minutes. Then rinse and let dry (preferably hang it in a mesh bag.) The baking soda will aid in cleaning the sponge as well as increasing its durability.

After each use, allow your sponges to completely dry. Don’t keep them in the shower, hang them somewhere where they can totally dry out.
